Angel Hill. An obelisk, long disappeared, was erected on the hill at a cost of £63. It was 23 feet high and had three lamps attached to it. Promoted by Heudebourck who abandoned his original plan for a fountain when a public meeting in 1840 decided "that the sparkling of the water in the fountain would frighten horses and endanger the public".
