SX 52408470 Leat on south slope of High Down visible on the 1947 photograph.
Leat flowing roughly parallel to River Lyd on its west bank from SX 53208523 to SX 53108570. From this point the leat may continue northwards very close to a curved field boundary of the field system SX58NW/18. There is a block of streamwork SX58NW/93 adjacent to this boundary. The alternative is a ditch that curves north-west around the contours of a small hill in the direction of Fernworthy Down.

(09/11/2004) SX 53098570 to SX 52238470. A dry leat channel commences on the right bank of the River Lyd on the northern margin of High Down and runs for approximately 1.6km until it enters enclosed land adjacent to High Down House. Near its source the channel measures between 1.0m and 1.2m wide and up to 0.4m deep with a substantial bank on its downslope margin. Towards the southern edge of High Down it has been disturbed by later tracks and is little more than a slight linear hollow.
This feature appears to have provided the domestic water supply to High Down House.
