Name:Enclosure E on Langstone Moor

Summary

Curvilinear enclosure at the south-eastern end of the settlement. A hut circle 4.7 metres in diameter is shown in the centre of the enclosure with a small stone mound to the west. A small hut 3.4 metres in diameter on the northern edge of the enclosure was excavated in 1894. Fragmentary sections of boundary wall are shown extending to the north-west and south-west of the enclosure. Two detatched hut circles are shown to the north of the enclosure and a large 5.6 metre diameter excavated hut circle with a 1.1 metre high door jamb is shown to the west.

Curvilinear enclosure shown on the English Heritage 1:10000 survey of 2003 at the south-eastern end of the settlement. A hut circle 4.7 metres in diameter is shown in the centre of the enclosure with a small stone mound to the west. A small hut 3.4 metres in diameter on the northern edge of the enclosure was excavated in 1894. Fragmentary sections of boundary wall are shown extending to the north-west and south-west of the enclosure.
