Name:Hut circle on Manga Hill

Summary

A hut circle situated near the N corner of an abandoned early C19th enclosure on the moderate E-facing slope of Manga Hill. Internally 3.8m N-S by 3.5m E-W it is enclosed by turf-covered boulder walls 1.0m to 1.8m thick and 0.3m high. Some leaning external facing slabs are visible on the N side. The hut has a level interior and is terraced on the E side. No entrance is visible though a gap 1.0m wide occurs in the SE side.

(10/11/1999) At SX 63818470. Hut circle 450m NE of Teignhead Farm. Measures 5m by 3.7m. Internal area 18.5m. Rubble wall 1.5m wide, 0.5m high. A 155 degree facing gap may represent a doorway. The building is orientated NNE to SSW. Earthfast in SW wall. Grass covered.
