'Whitehayes' shown as a row of three adjoining buildings on 19th century map in an irregular shaped enclosure on the north side of the road with further buildings to the north-west, north and north-east.

1 and 2 Whitehayes Cottages in Kilmington were Listed on 19th October 1984. Pair of cottages, possibly originally one house built in the 17th century or earlier of roughcast stone rubble with a heightened asbestos slate roof with gabled ends. Two storey building with a long six window range of small 19th and 20th century casements with glazing bars. Number 2 at left hand lower end has a 20th century plank door. Number 1 has a 20th century door in the gable end. Rendered stacks at ridge and gable end. Interior: Only number 2 inspected inside and found to have a jointed cruck truss with a stopped chamfered ceiling beam and fireplace bressummer. Other details: LBS Number 88026.
