The name 'Old Palmers' of the picturesque cottage situated opposite the post office could have connections with a prominent family of Dalwood called the Palmers who may have owned land there.

Cottage. Circa C18 colour-washed stone rubble cottage at right angles to road. Corrugted iron roof with hipped and gabled ends. Two storeys. Four window range. Modern glazed door with gabled head. Rebuilt brick end and ridge chimney stacks.
