Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1951 - 1977, SX39SW9 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV340088.

Visited 8th March 1951. Tumulus, circular mound of small granite stones and shale. No trace of ditch, but it appears to have been ploughed. A previous tenant has made attempts to dig into it. It is in a fairly good state of preservation and is now covered with grass. Diameter 14 metres, height 0.4 metres.
Visited 21st February 1953. The mound is now grass covered.
Visited 7th February 1974. Up to 13 metres diameter, 0.4 metres high. Under arable. (?)

Visited 29th November 1979. Diameter 14.9 metres, height 0.4 metre. Small stony mound in arable field. Likely to disappear if ploughing continues. No visible ditch.

A bowl barrow situated on an upland ridge overlooking the valley of the River Tamar. A circular mound which measures 15.4 metres in diameter and up to 0.4 metres high, and a surrounding quarry ditch from which material to construct the mound was derived. This is preserved as a buried feature measuring approximately 3 metres wide. To the east this ditch underlies a field boundary.
