Summary

Bank barn, shop farm. Rubble built slate roofed combination barn (1st floor) and cowshed (underneath). The two storeyed elevation (s) has two loading doors at barn level, and four cowshed doors at ground level protected by a long slated pentice. Early-mid 19th century. Uncommon (addyman). Vis=-/10/1985 (griffiths). Large bank barn, of stone externally, but with internal brick cladding, formerly plastered. Upper floor has central (double) cart door in rear wall and one at sw end, and has been partly fitted out as a granary, with moveable wooden bins. Contains a variety of 19th century machinery-winnower, chaff cutter, mill, etc. On the ground floor is the wooden ciderpress (with tumbler mill outside) and barrels. Vis=22/11/1985 (griffiths). Formerly a stone roundhouse at the back of the barn (ie serving first floor). Bits of horse mill lying around. Vis=recorded by exeter museums afu prior to demolition 1988 (fmg).
