Osa=sx68ne21. Vis=30/7/1974 (os) a field system, extending for 200m along the eastern side of buttern hill is between 1100 and 1300 ft. It is associated with an un-nucleated settlement comprising of thirteen identifiable hut circles. Contemporary field walling up to 0.5m high encloses approx 25 ha of hill-slope, it has been severly denuded by modern stone clearance (os).

Fleming, a. /pps/49(1983)211/the prehistoric landscape of dartmoor part 2. Vis=scorhill reave. The terminal of the gidleigh common system. Has been robbed-out just n of scorhill stone circle (sx68ne/12) but becomes visible 20-30m se of the circle, running towards the n teign, which it crosses. Its line shows it to post-date the circle. S of the river it runs through the middle of the shovel down stone rows. It is probable that this reave is primary and marked the boundary of upland grazing zone on shovel down (fleming).
