A segmented linear ditch, very approximately 12 metres in width and 630 metres long with irregular edges, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken from 1942 onwards and on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. It corresponds to a feature depicted on the late-19th century mapping and is one of a number of similar opencuts for tin working on Roborough Down probably dating to the late medieval or post-medieval period.
