'Rugg's Farm' house shown on 19th century map as an L-shaped feature in a rectilinear enclosure to the north of the road.

Old Rugg's, The Street. Circa early 16th century. Stone rubble. Asbestos slate roof with gabled ends. Two storey.

About half of the cottages and farmhouses in the conservation area are listed and mainly date from the early 16th century to early /mid 19th century. Old Ruggs is the earliest discovered with jointed cruck trusses, moulded ceiling beams and early fireplaces. Other details: Maps.

Old Rugg's farmhouse in Kilmington was Listed on 8th May 1967. The former two storey farmhouse was built in the early 16th century of stone rubble under an asbestos slate roof with gabled ends. The long six window range has modern three and four light casements. Wide boarded door off centre in heavy wooden doorframe. Rebuilt brick ridge and end stacks. Interior: Six bays with jointed arch trusses. Cross passage, the screen has been ceiled over with later panelling and plaster. Inserted moulded timber ceiling. Fireplace at end with chamfered bressummer. Another fireplace with moulded and crenellated bressummer. Other details: LBS Number 88024.
