Possible site of a flag signal post. Could be one of a line of posts, one of which is recorded by russell on pin beacon used in the napoleonic wars. Apart from one other being marked as "flag staff" on st. Cyres' hill, combe raleigh no others are contained in the survey drawing (russell).
