1. Alma Villa on the site of Mount Flagon Civil War Fort in Dartmouth.
2. At the outbreak of the Civil War Dartmouth declared for parliament and repaired existing defenses. Also, fresh vantage points were fortified against a land attack including Townstall Church, the West Gate, Mount Boone and Mount Flaggon.
3. Mount Flaggon, strongly garrisoned by Royalists is supposed to have been an eminence overhanging the town, nearly about its centre.
