Summary
Near the gate from moorland to the early Routrundle Farm there is a large earthfast stone covered with several dozen depressions 2 to 3cms across and from 1 to 2cms deep. If this represents as seems possible, stone cutters idle moments, the rounded bases to the hollows suggest that they were not made with a mechanical drill but with a "jumper" and are of uncertain date.

(25/06/1980) At SX 55207191 near the gate from moorland to the early Routrundle Farm there is a large earthfast stone covered with several dozen depressions 2 to 3cms across and from 1 to 2cms deep. If this represents as seems possible, stone cutters idle moments, the rounded bases to the hollows suggest that they were not made with a mechanical drill but with a "jumper" and are of uncertain date.
