Summary
A small structure situated on the NW side of Middle Stape Tor. It is a small, rectangular shelter built on a narrow ledge against a 1.8m high rock face. It measures 2.1m by 1.6m, with crude walls 0.6m to 0.9m wide and 0.3m high, built of moorstone blocks. There is no entrance visible.
It is almost certainly a temporary shelter, of unknown origin, and is of minor significance.

Full description
Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV221275.
Osa=sx57nw79/photo. (28/10/1980 (os) At SX 54037564, among the rocks of Middle Staple Tor at 419m. OS is a probable hut circle of Type 2 (SX 56 NE 71).
It has been constructed as a semi-circle of double-faced walling against a rock face. The internal diameter measures 2.2m. by 1.6m. the walling is 0.6m. wide and 0.3m. high with an entrance gap on the SW (see ground photograph)
Surveyed at 1:10 000 and at 1:2500 (see plan).
