439943: Stone free areas within Whittor enclosure. Not archaeological (included in list of sites previously recorded but not recorded in this survey either because not located, natural features, non-antiquities or duplicates).

National Monument Record, 2018, Pastscape, 1978/1980 data (Website). SDV360651.

Probable foundations for pillow mounds have been found on the flat top of White Tor and within the area of cairns and general clitter in the form of two rectangular patches of stone. Each is 4.0 metres long, 1.3 metres wide and 0.1 metres high, the stones firmly embedded and lichen covered, and the patches are set at right angles one to another.
There is no cause to think them connected with military activity (citing Quinnell, N. V., 12/10/1978 or 12/10/1980, Ordnance Survey Field Investigators Comments).
