Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1907, 125NW (Cartographic). SDV148817.

'Boundary Stones' indicated on OS 6" (1907) but not on OS 6" (1966).

Boundary stones. Lee Mill Bridge. South Brent - Plymouth road. At each end of this bridge over the River Yealm, there is a boundary stone. Ermington (5) at the east end and (5a) Plympton/St/Mary at the west end.

Site visit 5th January 2004. Parish boundary stone erected circa 1758 at the east end of Lee Mill Bridge on the north side of the road. The inscription 'Ermington' has been defaced. The stone was possibly targetted during the Second World War under the Removal of Direction Signs Order of 1940.

The Ermington parish boundary stone was erected circa 1822 on the east side of Lee Mill Bridge. The 'Emington' inscription has been defaced and the stone is not shown on current Ordnance Survey mapping.
