The site lies on a gently sloping ridge top running northwest. There is a possible slight platform in the area of the enclosure.

Rapid examination of aerial photograph suggests the presence of a possible long barrow or mortuary enclosure, of Neolithic date, visible as an enclosure cropmark, c420 meters northwest of Five Elms.

A possible Neolithic long barrow or mortuary enclosure is visible as a cropmark ditch on aerial photographs (p1-6). It is roughly rectangular with curved corners, and dimensions of 29m x 11m, aligned N-S. The feature was digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme.
