'Old Gravel Pit' shown on 19th century map on the north side of 'Gravel Lane'.

Chert implements including a large Levallois flake, have been found recently in Manor Pit, Seaton on the 50 foot (15.24 metre) terrace of the Axe Valley gravels.

The only gravel pit shown on the 1963 map on the 50 foot (15.24 metre) contour line is at SY246912.
