Full description
Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1977, SX47SE22 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV341775.
A handaxe of Broom chert was found at Tavistock. It is 4.5 inches long (11.43 centimetres) with a broad wedge-shaped point and thick butt which has a large lateral platform. The side-edges are straight and fairly even. Artefact in the 1931 Sturge Collection 110 (R A Smith).
