Inscribed stone observed adjacent to entrance gates of Lydford Church and Lydford Castle. Inscription could not be read.
Jenkinson, T., 2005 - 2008, A386 Tavistock to Okehampton (Report - Survey). SDV323813.
(08/04/2004) Milestone in Lydford below entrance to castle on north side of road. A rough hewn pillar, once a gatepost with a broken peg/hook in the face. Chipped. Dates from c1762. Inscribed, '8 T 9 O'. Meaning 8 miles to Tavistock, 9 miles to Okehampton.
