Linear cropmarks of ditched features are visible on aerial photographs on west-facing slopes overlooking the Exe valley, approximately 700 metres west of Silverton. The cropmarks are possibly the remains of a large rectilinear enclosure and possibly associated field boundaries of later prehistoric to Roman date.
The cropmark enclosure measures at least 40 metres by 28 metres in size, defined by cropmarks up to approximately 2.5 metres in width. The northern edge of the enclosure cannot be seen and a break circa 6 metres wide in the southern edge might represent an original entrance. An oval cropmark just over 4 metres in diameter might be evidence of an internal pit immediately north and east of the possible entrance. Linear cropmark features on roughly the same alignment as the enclosure might be evidence of possibly associated field boundaries.
