Summary

A number of charcoal burning platforms were recorded in Hitchcombe Wood during walkover survey in 1985. In woodland, platforms measure 4m in diameter. Possibly not recorded in the 2017-18 survey, unless this is one of platforms shown further to the south.

Apparently not recorded in 2017-18 visits, although a nothing is recorded within this area of woodland, yet multiple platforms are shown to the south but in a similar alignment to that shown in this area on the 1985 survey plan; possible that these may be the same platforms, but it's unclear where they should be placed on the GIS [Richards, A. F, 28/11/2022].
