Summary

Platform recorded in 1985, measures 4.0-5.0 metres in diameter. Platform is cut into rocky ground and eroded on lower side. Darkened soil and traces of oak charcoal and a rusty steel strip 1.5 metres long possibly from charcoal kiln noted in 2017-18 survey work.

McCrone, P., 1985, An Archaeological Survey of Some Dartmoor Woodlands (Report - Survey). SDV360479.

(Visited May 1985). SX 7482 8957 Platform recorded in woodland. Measures 4.0 metres in diameter. Damaged by forestry track.


Parkins, M., 2017-2018, Fingle Wood archaeological features, C33 (Report - Survey). SDV362748.

Platform measures 5.0 metres, cut into rocky ground. Eroded on lower side. Darkened soil and traces of oak charcoal. Rusty steel strip 1.5 metres long possibly from charcoal kiln.
