Charcoal hearths in King's Wood. A number of features have been identified as charcoal burners' hearths. These are either circular platforms built out from sloping ground or circular platforms on more level ground, 5-6m in diameter, sometimes bounded by a low (0.15-0.3m) bank between 1 and 2 metres in width.
