Ridge and furrow - SX 7747 8408
The area covered by ridge and furrow is some 200m by 40m. The eastern uphill edge appears to have been partly obliterated by the access track bulldozed through the wood. On the downhill edge a negative lynchet exists at the southern end. The ridges are around 6.5m wide and have axes running north-east by south-west. A field some 100m south of the wood (around SX 776 836) has traces of ridge and furrow cultivation which were revealed by light snow cover in January 1985.
