Summary

Double ditched curvilinear enclosure of prehistoric date, with outlying linear features was recorded as cropmark in 1984. There are no visible earthworks.
Aerial photographs suggest the presence of an enclosed settlement of Prehistoric or Roman date, visible as cropmarks. The cropmarks include a double ditched enclosure (with possible east and north-west facing entrances and a possible hut circle in the centre) and an enclosed area to the south-east which has a south-east facing, out-turned entrance, possibly forming a trackway.

Rapid examination of ap suggests the presence of an enclosed settlement of prehistoric or roman date, visible as cropmarks in an area bounded by sx83709815, sx83829798 and sx83919821, c.380m w of bloomfield cottages. The cropmarks include a double ditched enclosure (with possible e and nw facing entrances and a possible hut circle in the centre) and an enclosed area to the se which has a se facing, out-turned entrance, possibly forming a trackway (nmr citing miller).

Vis=6/12/1991 (robinson) enclosure lies on a gentle w slope near the w end of an ew ridge. The ground falls steeply to the s. No visible earthworks. The outlying features lie on a nearly level ridge top, nothing visible. The field bank immediately w of the enclosure shows no sign of conforming to the enclosure (dprfp).
