The chapel of ease presumably refers to sy18nw/60, there is no known documentary evidence of an alien cell, sidmouth was one of otterton priory's possessions (drhs).

The religious house at sidmouth mentioned by lewis was probably the alien priory of benedictines see sy18nw60, the remains of whose chapel still exist. The house was subordinate to their priory at otterton see sy18nw61 (os).

Respondent to dean milles questionnaire was told of an ancient priory that belonged to a monastery in normandy but he forgets where exactly, he may be referring to this site (dean milles).

Testa de Nevil: St. Michael of the Mount also holds Sidmue. Githa by leave of the Confessor, gave the Conqueror confirmed. Annexed 30th April 1415 with Otterton Priory, the daughter house of St. Michael, to Syon House in Middlesex by Henry V.
