Founded by simon grendon 1406. Originally in preston street. Rebuilt in 1880. Three projecting gabled bays with entrances. Mullion and transom casement windows with tiled roof and clustered chimneys (doe).

They were in preston street until 1878, when the present two storey, tudor style buildings of local stone were built in grendon road by robert w. Best.(hoskins).
