Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1952, 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV258807.

Cairn circle shown.

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1980, SX56SE135, SX56SE135, Plan (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV175858.

Visited on 25th August 1980. This may or may not be a genuine antiquity but the feature comprises mostly buried stone, its surface is 1.0 metres long and 0.3 metres high, with five large stones around it in the form of a semi-circle approximately 9 metres in diameter. Two are massive slabs, one recumbent, the other 0.9 metres high; two others are recumbent pillar type stones at ground level, and the last is an upright block 0.5 metres high. No evidence of robbing. Whether the stones represent the remnants of a stone circle, or even a hut is debatable.

Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, 1985, Aerial Photograph Project (Dartmoor) - Dartmoor Pre-NMP (Cartographic). SDV319854.

Shown on overlay.

Turner, J. R., 1990, Ring Cairns, Stone Circles and Related Monuments on Dartmoor, 81, G18 (Article in Serial). SDV229817.
