Socketed axe, 3 ribs on face, loop damaged on finding, length 56 millimetres, blade width 43 millimetres, socket diameter external 36 x 45 millimetres. Exeter Museum Records describe this find as a palstave (Summer 1960), but when the piece re-appeared in June 1978, it was this socketed axe.
