WIDECOMBE-IN- VENTON SX 77 NW THE-MOOR 2/258 Shippon about 10 metres south-west - of Higher Venton Farmhouse-GV II
Shippon. Probably C17 or C18. Granite rubble. Roof covered with corrugated iron. Shippon occupies right-hand end; through-passage with wide opposing doors to left. 1 storey; the shippon lofted. The building has been added to the west end of an earlier shippon (q.v.); its rear wall shows evidence of several building periods, including a straight joint and a built-in round column. Interior of shippon concreted. Roof-timbers C20. Included for group value.
