Hillhead farmstead with a farmhouse and buildings. Near the top of the hill on the road to Bittaford, a little less than half a mile north of Ugborough village square. A medium sized farmhouse, probably 19th century; stone with slate hung front. Two storey; gable roof with stack at each end. Three windows upper storey; two lower. Centre doorway with single storey porch, gable roof. Adjoining the house at rear there is a small building with a tall stack, and window set high in the wall, possibly for bacon smoking. Farm buildings: hipped stone built barn and shippon, edged with granite. Fairly new roof. Hillhead mentioned in 1781 Land Tax Assessment and assessed at £2.5s.4d.
