Chapman, G. M., 1983, Dalwood, A Short History of an East Devon Village, 14 (Monograph). SDV351908.
King Edward I, circa 1295, caused an inquiry into manors and property. The entry for Dalwood shows that the lord of the manor held the right to erect a gallows. Site unknown but probably situated at a crossroads.
