Full description
Chapman, G. M., 1983, Dalwood, A Short History of an East Devon Village, 42 (Monograph). SDV351908.
One tannery must have been near Carters Cross as the stretch of the lane to Dalwood on either side of the cross roads used to be called Tanyard Road while the two fields behind the present reading room were named Tanyard Plot and Tanyard Orchard.
