Full description
Chapman, G. M., 1983, Dalwood, A Short History of an East Devon Village (Monograph). SDV351908.
Chapman suggests that the parish boundary hedge could be older than the parish and could date back to Saxon times, possibly forming part of the boundary of a Saxon estate that later became the parish of Dalwood. The hedge is mainly composed of holly trees a favourite tree planted in Saxon times. A notable part of this boundary is at the top of Danes Hill.
