Full description

Department of Environment, 1986, Broadwoodwidger, 38 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV19158.

Carey Cottage,
Circa late 18th century/early 19th century. Colourwashed rendered cob on stone rubble footings, slate roof half-hipped at right end, hipped at left end. Axial stone stack. Rendered stack is 20th century. Two room single depth plan. Integral storage room with loft over and separate entrance. Stone rubble lean-to. Two storeys. Casements are late 18th/early 19th century. Principal room has exposed joists, the fireplace is blocked. Circa late 18th century panelled door into lower end. Largely unmodernized interior.
