HER Number:MDV3051
Name:The Glazebrook Railway Viaduct

Summary

Two columns of the 1848 "Brunel" viaduct (single track, broad gauge) stand on the right bank of the stream and are in ugborough. They are only ivy covered grey granite ruins, rising about 15m above the level of the stream, but one is partly buried in the embankment of the later viaduct. Much of the superstructure was timber, and this has all disappeared. The viaduct built 1892, for the double-track standard gauge railway is close to the other one, on the north, upstream side
