Summary

Fyllam yeat. One of 8 yeats on the 1478? map of dartmoor. Probably at the end of the lane now leading to a row of four houses known as palace cottages. End cottage seems to encroach on what was a gateway to the moor, although the land above the gateway has been quarried, and there would be no use for the moorgate. Mr alec rodgers of filham says that the moorgate at palace cottages was known as lud gate. A field on the west side of the lane is named ludgate.
