Full description

Ministry of Public Building and Works, 1969, Round Barrow in Heathermoor Plantation (Schedule Document). SDV343724.

Visited October 1969. Round barrow 6 feet high and 38 yards in diameter in a wood of beech trees and bracken.

Visited on 28th September 1969. Bury Moor, north-east of railway station. In dense wood, measurements approximate only. Diameter 20 paces, height 5 feet.

Department for Culture, Media and Sport, 1997, Bowl Barrow in Heathermoor Plantation, 50 Metres North-east of Petrockstow Station (Schedule Document). SDV343721.

A Bronze Age bowl barrow situated in an upland location to the north-east of the now disused Petrockstow Station, within Heathermoor Plantation. The monument survives as a 33.8 metres diameter circular flat-topped mound standing up to 1.65 metres high. The surrounding ditch from which material to construct the mound was derived is preserved as a 2 metres wide buried feature.
