Coombe Plantation in lease of freehold lands.

Named 'South Brook Coombe' on the Tithe Map.

Coombe Wood is depicted on the late 19th century historic map, running all the way to the road north of Buckland Manor.

Coombe Wood (the centre part). The wood covers a steep rock strewn valley side overlooking the River Dart. It is bordered on the east by the Ashburton/Buckland parish boundary, a ruined wall and small stream starting at blackwell, on the west by the fields of Southbrook Farm and by the highway on the north. There is no obvious bank (21/1/1981).

The modern map shows the wood ending at the footpath that cuts through it, but the 2010 aerial photograph shows that it still continues up to the road in the north.
