Greeves, T. + Robinson, R., 1984, Plan of Casleigh tin blowing mill (Plan - measured). SDV295113.

Site surveyed at 1:100 by T. Greeves + R. Robinson (18/12/1984) showing wheelpit, leat, causeway and locations of tin slag.

(14/05/1984) SX78778216. Tin slag from extensive spread on right bank of Wray Brook associated with site of Caseleigh blowing mill (tested on crf). Donated to Plymouth Museum.

Remains of a Medieval tin mill situated to the east of Casely Court. The remains comprise a wheelpit, possibly for an undershot waterwheel, and adjacent to the south are the possible remains of a rectangular building, presumed to be the remains of the mill. There are possible 14th century references to this mill.

Casely tin blowing mill, Lustleigh SX 7877 8216. Worked from 1378 or earlier and in 1613 document it was name 'Caseleigh Smitha'. Tin slag has been found on site, on the right bank of the Wray Brook, along with modern wheelpit. Ground was known as Smithy Orchard.
