Full description

Belsey, P. M., 1983 - 1987, Buckland In The Moor Parish Checklist (Un-published). SDV345904.

(25/1/1985) Circular bank roughly 1 metre wide by 0.30 metres high, very ill-defined on the south side, containing a pit 1 metre deep with deeper hole, possibly animal burrow, in the centre. This site is well outside the pre-historic settlements on Buckland Common, situated on the south-west facing slope of the hill, not the ridge and there are no other obvious mine workings nearby.

Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, 1985, Aerial Photograph Project (Dartmoor) - Dartmoor Pre-NMP (Cartographic). SDV319854.

Hut circle shown on project map overlay, but not discussed.

Pascoe, E., 1986, Comment on feature on Buckland Common (Personal Comment). SDV290551.

This pit is in an area used as a firing range during the 1939-45 war.

Newman, P., 2015, Rippon Tor Premier Archaeological Landscape, Dartmoor National Park, Devon (Report - Survey). SDV359145.

Unlikely to be a hut circle; feature not thought to be archaeological.
