Name:Large cairn on the south side of Ugborough Beacon

Summary

Large cairn consisting of an earth and stone base surmounted by a mound of stones. It measures 28 metres in diameter and 1.7 metres high with a flat top and a hollow in the centre, suggesting it has been disturbed in the past. Another, smaller cairn lies to the south-east.

Cairn on Ugborough Beacon. Large flat-topped grass-covered cairn with shallow depression in centre. Situated 30 metres from SX65NE/192 (MDV3106). Measures 27.5 metres diameter (edge to edge), 1.2 metres high.

These two very large cairns on the brow of Ugborough Beacon each consist of an earth and stone base surmounted by a mound of stones. The more westerly cairn is 28 metres in diameter and 1.7 metres high with a flat top and a hollow in the centre, suggesting it has been disturbed in the past.
