On the 1841 Modbury tithe map, a building is illustrated alongside the road within Plot 1859 which is recorded as 'Toll House' on the accompanying tithe apportionment.

There is a toll house near Sequers Bridge on the Plymouth to Kingsbridge Road (citing Sheldon 1933). Possibly the small building shown on the 1907 6 inch Ordnance Survey map at SX63495170, at Goutsford Gate.
