Milestone on north-east side of A361 between Wrafton and Chivenor Cross, shown on late 19th and 20th century maps. Set up just prior to the closure of the Turnpike Trust in 1879 and inscribed '4/BARUM', from the Medieval Latin for Barnstaple.

A milestone is marked as 'MS. Barnstaple 4'.

Site visits 12th December 2003 and 22nd March 2018. Milestone in Wrafton, located about a quarter of a mile north west of Chivenor Cross, on a grass verge on the north side of the road.
Set up just prior to the closure of the Turnpike Trust in 1879. Inscribed '4/BARUM' from the Medieval Latin for Barnstaple.
Worn and discoloured, with chips down the left hand side. Paint residues were found in the lettering.
