Greper documented in 1658. The tenement disappeared circa 1800, and the holding was combined with those of Fulls and Forder to make the farm now known as Lower Woodland before the Tithe Assessment (1838).
The most likely site of the tenement is in Well Field, whre the rmains of the well structure are still visible. Parts of the hedge boundaries at the south-east corner are low stone built walls. Surface disturbances suggest a habitation site. The natural banked gully from the well may have provided the name. Other details: Sketch plan. Map object based on this Source.
