(September 1961) An open village of 30 or more huts of small 6.10m internal diameter. A number of enclosures are related to the settlement. Late Bronze Age / Iron Age. Moorland. Settlement probably consists of over 70 hut circles. Full details of settlement on SX58SE/1.
(1992) Settlement including at least 67 hut circles, one post-Medieval shelter, a Medieval or post-Medieval shieling and at least 20 fields.

Remains of two major and one minor element of an agglomerated enclosure on the western slope of standon hill. Five hut circles freestanding in probable area of western element. Two hut circles freestanding within eastern element. Five hut circles attached to walls of eastern element. Enclosure partially within map SX58SE.

This monument includes sixty-seven stone hut circles, one post-medieval shelter, a shieling of medieval or post-medieval date and at least twenty fields situated on a gentle west-facing slope overlooking the valley of the River Tavy and forming the greater part of the large unenclosed stone hut circle settlement north of Standon Down. The field system associated with the settlement includes around twenty irregular fields. In most cases the boundaries abut the huts suggesting that the fields were added at some date after the settlement was established.
