Site visit 4th March 2006. Milestone against the wall on the north side of road opposite the Braunton Inn. Set up just prior to the closure of the Turnpike Trust in 1879. Inscribed '3/BARUM' from the Medieval Latin for Barnstaple. A dirty stone, easily overlooked and at risk from impact.
