Full description

Good example of a threshing barn with doors and floor intact, with a roundhouse. Late 18th/early 19th century barn with a 19th century roundhouse.

Barn and attached shippon with loft over 10m south-west of North Town farmhouse. Circa 1850. Rubblestone with asbestos slate roof with gable ends. Virtually L-shaped on plan with shippon and loft adjoining at right angles. Large flat-arched cart entrance. External stone steps to shippon. Three segmental arched openings. Slatted window. Plank door with flat brick arch. Ventilation slits. Roof trusses, 19th century.
